Join Blyth Festival’s Artistic Director Gil Garratt & local historian David Yates

as they take part in a discussion about the reason

why the play 1837:  The Farmers’ Revolt is being presented this year &

its historical significance for this region & Canada.

This discussion will be moderated by writer, actor & director

for independent film, television & theatre, Christopher Spaleta.

In the play, a dramatic fabric of music, comedy & action,

is the backdrop for the epic Canadian story about a rebellion

whose reverberations helped build the very Canada we know today,

featuring the likes of local historic titans Van Egmond, Tiger Dunlop

& William Lyon Mackenzie.
