In 1988, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts peaked at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart with “I Hate Myself for Loving You” which was their third and final top ten single in the U.S.

In 1987, Def Leppard kicked off the North American leg of their tour in support of “Hysteria” at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, NY. When the tour ended in October of 1988, they played 243 concerts, 172 in North America alone.
